At Fintask, we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our finance automation services.

How We Use Your Information

• To provide and maintain our finance automation services
• To process and automate financial tasks as requested by you
• To communicate with you about our services and support

Google API Services

Our application uses Google API Services to provide enhanced functionality. When you authorize our application to access your Google account:

• We only access the specific Google services and data you explicitly authorize
• Your Google data is processed in accordance with Google's API Services User Data Policy
• You can revoke our access to your Google account at any time through your Google Account settings
• We do not store your Google credentials; authentication is handled through Google's secure OAuth system

Client Portal

Clients of Fintask can use our client portal at portal.fintask.ie to ask questions about software we have built for them and to request changes. When you use the portal:

• Signing in: you sign in with Google or with a one-time link sent to your email. From Google we receive only your name, email address and profile picture. We do not get access to your Gmail, Drive or any other Google data.
• What we keep: your chat messages, the change requests you submit, any files or screenshots you upload, and the status of each request.
• Why: to answer your questions, understand and carry out the changes you ask for, and keep a record of the work agreed with you.
• AI processing: portal chats are answered by an AI assistant provided by Anthropic. Your messages, and the relevant parts of the software we built for you, are sent to Anthropic to generate replies. Anthropic does not use this data to train its models.
• Where it is stored: with our hosting and database providers (Vercel and Neon), and in our project-tracking tool (Linear) when a request becomes a piece of work.
• How long: for as long as we work together, and deleted within 12 months after our work for you ends, or sooner if you ask.

Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. This includes encryption of data in transit and at rest, secure authentication systems, and regular security assessments.

Data Retention

We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to provide our services and fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy. Financial data processed through our automation services is typically processed in real-time and not permanently stored unless specifically required for the automation workflow.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access, update, or delete your personal information
• Revoke consent for data processing
• Request data portability
• Object to certain types of data processing
• Lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Commission in Ireland (dataprotection.ie)

Third-Party Services

Our services may integrate with third-party platforms and services (including Google services, accounting software, and other business tools). These third parties have their own privacy policies, and we encourage you to review them.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
